Since Seraph opened, one of our bestselling ranges continues to be the gorgeous Willow & Zac Collection of leather handbags.
Our customers love them and continue to come back for more. With something affordable for every occasion and all ages, many are even starting to collect them, including me.
The Sophia is probably our bestseller out of the entire range, but my favourite is a hot-pink Bella fold-over clutch, from several seasons back. They have featured the Bellaย in their range each season, releasing new fashionable colours. The Bella is great as a clutch but also has a wrist-strap, or a longer cross body strap. Itโs great for weekends away when you donโt want to carry too many bags โ perfect for travel. I also have a larger tote, my day-to-day carry bag that I use every day.
Local designers with a love of fashion
What many people do not realise is that the creative team behind Willow & Zac is a home grown success: two Newcastle women with a love of handbags saw a gap in the market several years ago, and started to run from there.
Willow & Zacโs team includes: designer Jo Wilson who has a passion for design and fashion with a degree in PR and over 20 years experience in retail and fashion; and Sharyn Pavey, who manages the business end ensuring the product is delivered on time and whose practical nature contributes to the functionality of their designs.
The result of their fashion brains-trust is a stylish range that looks right at home on the arms of fashionable women of London, Paris, New York, and of course, Newcastle and the Hunter.
We discovered Willow & Zac after seeing these gorgeous bags on the arms of a few ladies in the area. I knew they’d be perfect for our store and so asked around and discovered that they were from local designers, Willow and Zac. The result has been a match made in heaven!

Colour, style and quality
My customers love exactly what I love about their range: itโs colourful, good quality leather displaying variety and versatility with a bag for every occasion. They comment on how much they love the light interior (so you can see and find everything!), and within the sophisticated fashionable lines of each bag hide many pockets for all your handbag essentials.
The majority of bags come with two straps, whether you want a long cross body bag or a shorter shoulder bag. This multiple strap option actually was the result of customer feedback. The Willow & Zac team really encourage suggestions from their customers and stockists and we love passing on customer ideas. They also ask about what colours people are looking for and send out colour schemes to gauge the reaction from stockists. The upcoming spring season, for example, will feature sand colours and gold finishes that will be lovely for formals and races.
The current favourite of this season is the Lassya finish โ black and white printed suede with a python finish. Willow & Zac makes it in several styles including the Xanthe clutch and Sarah tote. It also comes in two-tone, which are perfect for day-to-night.
